Eye Opening I thought this book was wonderful. It made me realize I was not alone. Reading womens' magazines and talking to friends had me convinced I was the only woman in her twenties not having orgasms. This book helped me understand my body better, cleared up many of my misconceptions, and allowed me to achieve orgasm. I would recommend this book to anyone and have shared it with all my friends (who said they now have even better orgasms). My sex life can be divided into before this book and after, and the after is great! |

Terrific instruction manual Along with a wonderfully sex-positive philosophy (everything you do should feel good to you as well as to the one you're "doing") this book conveys a wealth of good, straightforward, and easy-to-follow instructions for greatly improving a couple's ability to please and pleasure one another. By the way, it is not only for straight couples; the information is universally useful -regardless of one's sexual orientation. Female genitalia and sexual response are mysteries to enough well-meaning lovers of women that a book like this becomes particularly useful. More than mere physiology, however, the Bodanskys also convey the mindset of each partner (to successfully give pleasure to another you need to listen, practice, enjoy yourself - and, yes: to nicely take charge) that promotes and then enables full sexual expression and, yes - reliable and then even "extended massive" orgasms. Great book. |

must have if you've never had an orgasm A friend who had success with this book gave it to me and I started following it when I was desparate to learn how to orgasm. It's definately clinical but I can't believe how well it worked. Now, after 4 years of having orgasms, I still have difficulty with a partner, but the fact I can have them at all is thanks to this book! I've loaned it to a few friends and it worked for them too! |

The All-Time Best Book on Sex Why this book is not better known is beyond me. Lowen wrote it decades ago, and it still is far ahead of anything else written to this point on the subject. His views of homosexuality may clash with today's world, but the essence of the book is full of humanity and deep insight into the nature of love. I can't say enough about this book. It is a gem of pure beauty. |

SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE... AND IT ISN'T Anyone who has read anything from the real experts knows that there is no such thing as a G-Spot orgasm and a lot of women have trouble just having an orgasm with good old (and usually reliable) clitoral stimulation. Some women feel bad enough about not meeting all the requirements of the super sexual female... now this expectation! And the multiple orgasm claim for men is for selling books... the technique is to "choke back" a good orgasm/ejaculation and theoretically still have the ability to have another (chocking back the actual ejaculation again) until finally having a full ejaculation! No way! Besides, it's one more performance demand placed on the man. And simultaneous orgasm to boot... come on, we're talking fantasy. Couples need to talk to one another to figure out what works best for them and let some other dummy buy this book! |

Handy to know this info As the husband i love this book it started the fire up again BUT this book is about pleasure and misses the boat on one point. It advocates the sex toy aspect of pleasuring is the way to go. We found that everything is achieved with the male partner. So If male partner is available try that first. After all that is the true pleasure, sharing the jorney. if this info was in the book 4 1/2 stars. |

hysteric paroxysm for centuries, troubled -- or troubling -- women were diagnosed with "hysteria." the classic treatment for this vague malady was inducement of the "hysteric paroxysm" -- known to us contemporary types as the orgasm. according to rachel maines's wryly hilarious history, the first mechanical vibrators were labor-saving devices for doctors tired of inducing orgasm in their patients manually. who knew? this book is clearly her dissertation & primarily intended for academics, but i found it mind-blowing & frequently quite amusing. i frequently recommend it to friends & colleagues looking for a quick, smart, engaging read. |

A couragous author! I admire Shere Hite's courage to cover such a controversial topic, but that doesn't make it a good book. The focus was more on making people shocked at such a controversial topic than on covering such a controversial topic. Even so, it brought up many taboo topics that should've been out in the open years ago. Good book, not well balanced. Shere Hite is a good writer. Someone who can rackle this sort of sexual topic has to be! |

This was certainly not one of the best I got this book because I thought it would have had new incite into the world of female sexuality. It did not. It covered the ground covered by a dozen other books which are like it, and could not even cover its own statement very well in the end. I was really disappointed in this entry. It was too short, and left too much out where it really counted. It was written in plain english and seemed to try to make a statement for women and learning new types of sexual subjects, but it really fell short of delivering a clear message. I expected more from a book with this title, but it only goes to show that you cannot tell a book by its cover. The text seemed to bounce along at a quick pace even when you wanted to learn and read more on a specific subject. It wandered some, and did not present a clear definitive narrative on anything that it covered. I do not think it was worth the asking price either. |

Outdated and statistically inaccurate When this book was at first published, it was revolutionary. Following the female version, it showed men's oppinions about sexuality in a way that had never been discussed before. For people living in the nineties, just a small portion of the book remains interesting. Besides its obsolence, The Hite Report on Male Sexuality is statistically inaccurate, for it was proved that the choice of those 7000 men had a flawed criteria. The author based the research upon forms published in magazines she received. The result is that there's an abnormal concentration of men with sexual problems, causing a distortion in the result. Its historical importance, nevertheless, still remains, and that should be one's only reason to buy it. |

Misleading Title Don't be mislead by the title. The Armed Robbery Orgasm is a serious piece of sexological research, which delivers an important message. In order to cure a sexological disorder, you must first expose it. Mr.Keyes' book is a candid account of how an untreated sexologic disorder can be damaging to one's self and sometimes others. As a therapist, I hand this book to patients that had hinted of any sexologic problems that were reluctant to say too much. After reading The Armed Robbery Orgasm, they arrive at their next session primed to discuss openly their sexologic concerns. The authors'willingness to be completely open about behavior, thought, and feeling, especially relative to material which causes most people extreme embarrassment has paved the way for others to expose their secret lives in order to be helped. I would recommend this book to anyone who has a sexological question, as well as, to professionals to treat sexologic impairments. This book gives individuals permission to be honest with themselves and others, especially about taboo topics. |
